The Pure Michigan Stormy Kromer cap is timeless style and enduring durability that have kept this cap popular for over 100 years. It is named after George "Stormy" Kromer, a semi-professional baseball player who later worked as a railroad engineer. The story goes that Kromer lost many hats to the wind while working on trains, and in 1903 he asked his wife Ida to make him a warm hat that would stay on more securely. She modified a baseball cap into what became the Stormy Kromer cap. The original Stormy Kromer cap uses a premium 80/20 wool/nylon blend and a lining of pure cotton for fit and comfort like no other. When the mercury dips a little too low and it’s cold enough to take a headband, just grab behind each ear and pull down. The ultimate in warm head protection has been proudly made in Michigan for over a century.
